Dear NASCH Donor,

As you may know, NASCH is entirely dependent upon voluntary donations as we receive no assistance from any government body, either local or national. Unfortunately, like many other Charities in this financial climate, we are struggling to the extent that the Association is in danger of closure.

You will be aware of our special work amongst children and adults with all types of disability who enjoy swimming in a safe and protected environment. Swimmers are encouraged to improve their swimming and enjoyment with our Water Skills and Distance Award schemes.

The only time some people can move independently is in the water – even non-swimmers are able to move with freedom with the water to support them. As well as the health advantages of swimming, our affiliated clubs throughout the country also provide fun, enjoyment and social activities

for their members.

Our Regional Galas and National Championships are supported by disabled swimmers who take part annually. The Conference and training Weekend is extremely useful to club organisers and members. The annual swimming camp at Woodlarks is the highlight of the year for many of our club members.

We are most grateful to all those who have supported us so generously in the past and hope that you will feel able to support us with a donation to enable us to continue.

We would be grateful for any donation, however small. This can be done by sending a cheque to the above address or through Just Text Giving – our code is NASC46 and you can text this to 70070.

Thank you

NASCH was founded in 1965 to fulfil a need which still exists.

Please help us to continue this work for disabled people.

As you can see from our website, we are providing a service to disabled children and adults who, through our member clubs, are able to enjoy the benefits of swimming in a safe and friendly environment on a regular basis.

NASCH Clubs rely on the Group Public Liability Insurance which is organised and subsidised by the Association. This insurance is a requirement of all the swimming pools which are used by the clubs.

Our Regional and Finals Swimming Galas are very well supported with about 1,500 disabled people taking part annually. The Conference and Training Weekend in Hertfordshire is very popular, although increasingly expensive to the Association. However the weekend is extremely useful to club organisers and members.

The Distance Award scheme is used by our clubs and is for all ages and abilities. We also provide a Water Skills Award Scheme, which is also used by several outside organisations, mainly Special Schools and Care Homes for Children, as well as in our own clubs. The Camping Holiday at Woodlarks in Surrey is the highlight of the year for many and you will see reports of this on the web site.

All our funding comes from voluntary donations for which we are very grateful. Please do support us – without your help all the good work which we try to do will be jeopardy and we will not be able to continue our work for disabled people.

Please send your donation to me at The Willows, Mayles Lane, Wickham, Hants PO17 5ND.

Thank you.
