Update from the Executive Committee

Tracey Kitching - Chair

A Happy New Year to all our members, their families, our supporters and sponsors.

Since our last AGM we have had an enjoyable week camping at Woodlarks in Farnham, Surrey and a fantastic Finals Gala at Leamington Spa (both thanks to the hard work of Lorraine Booth, our Social Secretary).

The work of NASCH continues in the back ground, supporting clubs and members with queries and organising such things as insurance.  If you would like to receive information about NASCH and what you need is not available on this web site, please contact our Co-ordinator, Mike O'Leary on 01329 833689.

Lorraine Booth - Social Secretary

After Woodlarks I am having a bit of a rest! All the letters and follow up from camp are now finished. I think everyone has had their photos and letters through and I have done my lists for next year phew. I was unable to attend the last meeting due to a holiday so I haven’t had the debrief meeting with Anne and Mike that’s due for September. Lists at the ready planning for next year!

Next on the agenda is the Regional gala in September and some of my own swimming clubs social activities in August.

Report awaited.

 Rosemary O'Leary - Administrator

I have sent out the letters and forms for the 2013 reaffiliations. This mailing also included details of the Conference and forms to order Distance Award and Water Skills badges.  I am pleased to say that a number of clubs have already reaffiliated.

My main task for NASCH is Fundraising and this is becoming increasingly difficult.  I have, however, been successful in receiving some donations in response to my appeals which is gratifying, but the work goes on. We must not get complacent as the Association will not be able to continue without donations.

Unfortunately, due to surgery on my foot, I was not able to attend the Championship Gala on the 3rd November.  This is the first one I have missed in 33 years!

Michael O'Leary - Co-ordinator

Since my last report I have been involved with the NASCH Championship Gala and the Regional teams. I attended the Championships as Trophy Trustee. I was really pleased that all the trophies were returned by last years winners.  Another brilliant Gala.

The preparation of the 2013 Conference (19th April – 21st April) is now underway and the first notification about this important event has been sent to member clubs. The next mailing in January will include the Programme. Some speakers have been approached and have accepted,  the theme of the Conference will be the Olympics and Paralympics.  I am sure the Programme will be even more interesting than usual and will include talks by

some of our members.

I have also answered many queries from clubs and some about the membership of NASCH and we have welcomed 2 new clubs to the Association.
